Private Residence

This German Village home is an adaptive reuse of an old stone fabrication workshop. It retains all the existing walls and beams of the historic structure. With the removal of a section of the roof, we created a courtyard that serves as an outdoor garden space and also provides abundant light for the kitchen, breakfast room, great room, library hall and master bedroom.

The somewhat unconventional floor plan was designed for a professional couple without children. Service areas and a master suite are at one end of the house, and guest areas are at the other end. The home has high ceilings and massive window openings typical of industrial spaces, but has finishes and wood working that are elegant and refined.
